Application range: 20 mm to 100 mm wide joints with expansion of 20 mm (20% to 100% expansion depending on joint width)
The “Litaflex Vario element” is intended for fire protection filling of classified expansion and movement joints with exceptionally large structural movements. Among other conditions, extreme movements can be caused by temperature differences or sudden force effects. For example, in the case of building subsidence in mining areas, aircraft crashes, earthquakes or special design features, e.g. in high-rise buildings, towers or in the combination of steel and concrete construction.
- outer side layers of Litaflex SM 30, building material class A1
- inner layer of Flaton VPG 12, intumescent material with building authority approval, foams under the influence of temperature
- joint filling capacity: closing of up to 20 mm joint expansion
- easy installation / can be laid in rectangular elements (metre pieces)
- elements are glued into the joint on both sides
- can be combined with expansion profiles (e.g. DEFLEX, MIGUA, TRENASTIC) for load-bearing construction joints

The joint system is glued into the joint on both sides. In case of joint widening, the element opens in the middle. In the event of fire, this opening is then filled with the foaming fire protection board Flaton VPG 12.
